Today we’d like to introduce you to Glen Kelly.
It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?
As CEO of Glen Kelly Real Estate LLC and Glen Kelly, Realtors I’m super proud to announce our 12 year anniversary this year. Looking back I can't believe I purchased my first home at 19 years old. I fixed it up and sold the property and then it hit me that although I love helping people and making dreams come true, maybe real estate was my calling. Perhaps I could make dreams come true in another way I thought to myself. I became a top producing agent at two local real estate brokerages. I then made the ultimate decision to start my own real estate company. During a time of a down housing market I opened Glen Kelly Real Estate LLC. I can’t believe that was 12 years ago. When I started it was just me against all the national big brand names as my competition. Well with blood, sweat, tears and total dedication I made a dream a reality by expanding to 30 agents and 2 offices in New Jersey, focusing on Monmouth and Ocean County.
I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?
Competing against large brand name real estate companies is not easy. My team and I decided to focus and build our company brick by brick on the foundation of charity, community and giving back. It was with that mission in mind that my entire family team of agents really made a difference. I am beyond proud of our accomplishments over the years. We took a real estate brokerage and did things totally different. We had events based on charity that not only gave us notability against our competition and solidified our company for years to come, but more importantly we actually really made a huge difference in our entire state of New Jersey. One of our biggest events was NFL hall of famers playing with underprivileged children live on a local football field. Till this very day the parents touch base about that super important time in their child’s life. Imagine playing football on a real football field with hall of fame athletes. We then took it to another level by hosting 13 WWE superstars at a live autograph signing for our own charity foundation. Huge names like Kurt Angle, Jake Roberts, Ted DiBiase, Tito Santana, Jimmy Snuka, Lita and some many top performers took part in a historical benefit for children with diseases. Even after that accomplishment we brought in international superstar band Hoobastank to perform their world wide hit “The Reason” live in Ocean County NJ, literally a July 4th super celebration.
Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition?
As we were expanding against our competition we started to gain more exposure. I was able to accomplish a task that few in the real estate industry, less than 3%, manage to accomplish, and ascertained the covenant title of Certified Real Estate Specialist (CRS). Many on my team continued to grow and stayed focused on our goals of always going above and beyond the call of duty for our clients. We have seriously done it all. My entire team should be recognized for their passion to very simply make dreams come true for so many NJ residents. The dream of home ownership is not an easy one. You need a highly skilled and knowledgeable professional to work thru the process from start to finish. This is the reason I believe many new clients come to Glen Kelly Real Estate LLC as opposed to a big brand name brokerage company. Our agents work intricately with investors, entrepreneurs, first time home buyers, luxury buyer and sellers, land purchases, second home and retirement homes, and also builders from simple subdivisions, to major site plan multi lot subdivisions. What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?
NJ real estate is a tough career path and very costly as well. You need drive, determination and compassion to truly succeed in real estate. Some people may think you can get licensed and make tens of thousands of dollars with little effort. But they would be so wrong. A successful agent works 7 days a week. A Glen Kelly Real Estate LLC agent is on call all the time truly making the dreams of home ownership an actual realty by going above and beyond the norm in our industry. This is why I believe my agents are simply the better choice. No matter if it is real estate or any other career path always be positive and never look back. Keep going forward constantly learning and developing. My advice is stay grounded enough to learn and master your craft. Above all, make the time for family and friends, and always give back to your community in any way you can. Charity within your community is what makes a huge difference. Best of all it brings about happiness and positivity in your life. Make long term and short goals that are attainable. If your passion is for real estate then make sure you have a Broker and Broker-Managers available to assist you at anytime. Make sure the same people know your name. Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?
I think success truly comes about in your life when you realized you made a difference. In our case we continue to make a difference every day by helping our local communities and making the dream of home ownership a reality. When I envision Glen Kelly Real Estate LLC has finally eclipsed on 12 years of loyal, dedicated service to our communities that is what brings me extreme pride and happiness. It’s those feelings and landmark charity events that make me realize we as a true family team of agents have become a success. No one can say it was easy. But if you are striving for success you have to bring your A game against your competition at all times. Making a difference in your surrounding communities is a great start. I am living a dream and when you get to a point in your life that you feel work is no longer that negative factor in your life, but work turns into a career that you love, that’s when you hit success. Success is not measured by how much money you have or tangible expensive items you purchased. Success is a measure of your overall happiness and enjoyment with what you do and what you love. I’m proud to have accomplished so much in such a short period of time. More so I am elated to have made a significant difference and impact in the lives of so many. Not just myself, but my entire family team of agents working together to make or motto shine “Treating Clients Like Family.” I think during our next 12 years we will continue growth and expansion. We will continue to make our foundation charity, community and give back. It’s a truly exciting feeling to look upon 12 years and realize what a difference we made.
